Meet Jon Taylor, the head of Ural Australia for the past 8 years. Upon his recent retirement, Jon handed over the reigns to his team and decided to hit the road.
2 weeks ago Jon and his wife Vicki flew from Australia to Alaska to pick up 2 new Ural cT's from our Anchorage dealer, Alaska Powersports.
Together, with another couple, they rode over 4,000 miles, exploring Canada and the Cascades, with the plan to end in Portland, OR.
Each Ural was equipped with a 10L jerry can and spare tire (mounted between the motorcycle and sidecar).
"One of many highlights was meeting the occupants of a cabin next door in Dawson City. A group of retirees who as 20 year olds built a wood raft and floated down the mighty Yukon river for 12 months to the Bearing Sea. Their trip was a major article in National Geographic in Dec 1975!"
"We'll be on the road for another month, so far so good! These bikes are purring."
